Theme 03

The Other Side of Hope

Cynicism is an emotional defense mechanism against disappointment, while despair is the surrender of future possibility. Strickland guides leaders through the collapse of naive optimism into a grounded, resilient hope discovered only when self-reliance is completely abandoned. A reader walks through the threshold of grief, unmasks defense mechanisms, and cultivates an active, gritty imagination anchored in God's resurrection power.
